P-25Partly keptImmigration and the border

Build a great wall on the southern border.

What happened

By Jan. 19, 2021, CBP counted about 458 miles of new wall completed. About 373 miles replaced older or worn barriers (about 351 miles of primary wall and 22 of secondary wall); about 52 miles of primary wall and 33 miles of secondary wall went where no barrier had stood. About $15 billion was identified, about $9.9 billion of it shifted from Defense Department accounts. PolitiFact, counting border miles with any barrier, put the net increase at about 40 miles and rated the combined promise to build the wall and have Mexico pay for it broken.
